Roles & Responsibilities

• Interpret high-volume emergency and inpatient imaging studies (XR, CT, MRI, US, NM) with accuracy and speed — expect ~90-100 studies per 8-hour shift
• Deliver rapid, high-quality stroke imaging reads and promptly communicate critical findings to clinical teams
• Prioritize and manage ER and inpatient cases to support excellent patient flow and outcomes
• Provide clear, timely reports and consult directly with ED and inpatient providers as needed
• Contribute to quality assurance, peer review, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with the remote teleradiology team and local clinicians to ensure seamless care continuity

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced with high-volume ER and inpatient reads, including stroke imaging
• Experience with XR, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine
• Ability to obtain an active West Virginia medical license (or already licensed)
• Strong communication skills and experience working in teleradiology/PACS environments
• Subspecialty experience in Neuroradiology or MSK is a plus

Education

• MD or DO (Diagnostic Radiology residency completed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with XR, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine interpretation
• Expertise in stroke imaging protocols and rapid stroke read workflows
• High-volume diagnostic interpretation and time management
• Familiarity with PACS/RIS, DICOM workflows, and remote reading setups
• Clear clinical communication and concise reporting skills
• Commitment to diagnostic accuracy and quality improvement
