Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to medically stable and at‑risk patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Assess, monitor, and intervene using advanced equipment such as arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and discharge planning
• Precept and mentor new staff while serving as a clinical leader on the unit
• Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the EMR

Qualifications

• Current State of Montana RN licensure (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
• Ability to manage central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines, and short‑term ventilation
• Basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Medication management for IV drugs such as heparin, diltiazem, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, dopamine
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team
