Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a diverse acute care patient population across telemetry, ortho, surgical, critical care, neuro, oncology, and general medical units
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals
• Document evaluations, progress, and outcomes accurately in MEDITECH
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation aides/PTAs to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Provide education and training to patients, families, and new staff as needed
• Maintain productivity expectations of 1 completed evaluation per hour or 10 treatments per 8-hour shift

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in Texas (or ability to obtain before start)
• BLS Certification required
• At least 2 years of experience in acute care or inpatient physical therapy preferred
• New grads considered if they have a strong adult acute clinical including trauma and critical care
• Experience with MEDITECH charting is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute care (inpatient) physical therapy
• Patient evaluation, treatment planning, and progress documentation
• Clinical reasoning for trauma, critical care, and post-surgical patients
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency - MEDITECH
• Strong communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
