PA Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Location: San Bernardino, California

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 24-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM, 4 shifts per month

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in life-saving surgeries including CABG, AVRs, and lung procedures
Harvest veins with precision to support critical operations
Round on patients daily to ensure top-notch care
Provide first-assist expertise in the OR
Handle on-call duties and charting with Cerner EMR
Room patients and collaborate with a dedicated support staff

Qualifications

Active Physician Assistant license
Board certification in General Surgery with CT Surgery fellowship preferred
Surgical first assist experience required - no new grads please
Proficiency in Cerner EMR
Comfortable with 24-hour call shifts

Education

Physician Assistant degree from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiothoracic procedures like CABG, AVRs, and lung surgeries
Vein harvesting skills
General surgery knowledge
Patient rounding and hospital care
Charting and rooming efficiency
