Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams, adjustments, and procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready
• Take and develop dental X-rays and intraoral scans
• Create impressions and digital scans for accurate treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care for braces or aligners
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts using Denticon
• Welcome patients warmly and help them feel comfortable in the chair

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-approved dental assistant certification
• Current Radiology/X-ray certification in Maryland
• Experience with orthodontic procedures is a big plus
• Proficiency with dental software, preferably Denticon
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and sterilization techniques
• Understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
• Ability to take high-quality dental impressions and X-rays
• Familiarity with orthodontic appliances (braces, retainers, aligners)
• Excellent multitasking and time management abilities
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
