Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for orthodontic appointments
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with charting
• Support a welcoming and efficient office environment

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) as required in Maryland
• Current X-ray certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental office

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
• Excellent patient care and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
