Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during exams and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Take and record patient vital signs and medical histories
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
• Manage patient flow and ensure a positive experience

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or registration in Maryland
• Orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• Radiography certification (required for X-rays)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification (preferred)
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and instruments
• Sterilization and infection control protocols
• Dental software proficiency (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and organizational ability
