Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams using advanced diagnostic equipment
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
• Educate patients on eye health and preventive care
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Active California optometry license (or ability to obtain before start)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in optometric procedures: refraction, contact lens fitting, low vision
• Skilled in using optometric diagnostic instruments (slit lamp, ophthalmoscope, etc.)
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology and treatment protocols
• Strong documentation and EHR skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care
