Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill neonates in the NICU
• Manage ventilators, CPAP, and other non‑invasive respiratory support devices
• Perform airway assessments, suctioning, and emergency interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Document all respiratory therapies and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Educate families on respiratory equipment use and home care plans

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Therapist license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience in a NICU setting preferred
• Willingness to work night shift hours
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal ventilation modes and settings
• Airway management and suction techniques
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases and capillary samples
• Infection control and isolation precautions
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
• Critical thinking and rapid decision‑making in high‑stress environments
