Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Document care activities accurately and timely according to facility policy
• Collaborate with the care team to promote each resident's dignity, independence, and comfort

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in good standing
• Previous experience caring for older adults preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Comfort with standing, lifting with assistance, and physical aspects of resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or completion of a recognized geriatric nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Familiarity with ADLs, mobility assistance, and safe patient handling
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good observation skills and the ability to report changes accurately
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills when working with older adults
