Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift; days as scheduled)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and assist with meal and hygiene needs
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team
- Document care and observations accurately to help ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience working with elderly patients preferred but new grads are welcome
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Education
- GNA certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Basic vital sign measurement and charting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with older adults
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes clearly
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently on assigned shifts
