Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping them feel safe and respected
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with coworkers and families
• Promote a comfortable, dignified living environment and encourage resident engagement

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Previous experience caring for older adults preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification encouraged or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization/onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and principles
• Skilled with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic observation and vital signs recognition
• Clear, timely documentation and handoff communication
• Compassion, patience, and respect for resident dignity
