Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents with dignity
• Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed with attention to dietary needs
• Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively during handoffs
• Engage residents in social interaction and observe behavioral or cognitive changes

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Compassionate communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Reliable transportation to the Bowie, MD facility

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with activities of daily living and resident mobility
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Familiarity with dementia care principles and patience-based approaches
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Accurate charting and attention to detail
