Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Location: Hartford, CT
Start Date: 08-24-2026
End Date: 11-22-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 36 hours per week, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, initiate IVs, and perform emergency procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions continuously
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Document accurate patient information and maintain confidentiality
- Respond quickly and confidently to life-threatening situations
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC certifications required
- Strong experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers
- Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to make quick decisions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of emergency nursing protocols and practices
- Proficient in trauma assessment, stabilization, and resuscitation
- Skilled in patient triage and prioritization
- Knowledgeable in administering emergency medications and treatments
- Adept at using electronic health records and medical equipment
- Ability to remain calm and focused during crises
