Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and oral examinations
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Assist the dentist during procedures and treatments
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in Virginia (or ability to obtain before start)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Education

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control
• Proficient in taking dental x-rays and interpreting results
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
• Attention to detail in patient documentation and care
• Ability to adapt to different practice workflows
