Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care on the medical/surgical unit, supporting patient comfort and dignity
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to help implement care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality
• Contribute to a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current/state-appropriate CNA certification or licensure
• Previous experience or demonstrated interest in medical/surgical care preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting and long periods on your feet
• Willingness to comply with facility onboarding, background checks, and health requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with basic patient care tasks and ADL assistance
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Good interpersonal skills — calm, patient, and respectful with patients and families
• Ability to follow direction, prioritize tasks, and escalate concerns appropriately
