Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Wausau, WI
Start Date: 08-11-2026
End Date: 11-07-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Day shift, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 40 hours/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation. Flexibility desired.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $33 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care including feeding, mobility support, and personal hygiene assistance
- Follow individualized care plans to ensure resident goals and preferences are met
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning using gait belts and mechanical lifts
- Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs with empathy and urgency
- Document care accurately in electronic medical records before end of shift
- Support residents during mealtimes, including set-up, feeding assistance, and intake documentation
- Observe and report any changes in resident physical, emotional, or cognitive status to the nurse
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents
- Adhere to infection control protocols including proper PPE use and hand hygiene
- Participate in care conferences and assist in training new staff members
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry
- Active BLS certification (must have at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNA
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and support residents safely
- Computer literacy including experience with electronic medical records
- Must be willing to float to all units including LTC, rehab, dementia, and vents
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and feeding assistance techniques
- Mobility support and safe transfer methods
- Infection control and prevention practices
- Documentation and electronic charting systems
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of dementia care and ventilator support
