Certified Nursing Assistant – UHC Staffing

Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Florence, AL

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (varies), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM NOC (overnight, includes 30-minute meal break)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $15 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and support dignity
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Take and record vital signs and observe changes in patient condition
Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team
Support safe transfers and mobility needs while promoting independence
Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep everyone safe
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent care

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (must be active and in good standing in Alabama)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
Comfortable working overnight shifts and flexible per diem assignments
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of direct patient care and personal assistance
Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Basic charting and electronic or paper documentation skills
Infection prevention practices and use of PPE
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
