Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support safe and dignified resident mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Monitor resident condition and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
• Assist with feeding, bathing, grooming, and toileting while promoting independence
• Document care accurately and follow established care plans and protocols
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that supports resident wellbeing
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New York State
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Previous experience in long-term care or nursing home settings is preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills and a patient, resident-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control practices
• Comfortable with resident mobility assistance and safe body mechanics
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Skill in following care plans, documenting accurately, and working in a team
• Compassion, patience, and good interpersonal skills when interacting with residents and families
