Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered medication management across a 285-bed all-private-room hospital
• Perform medication verification and first-dose processing with attention to detail
• Dose and monitor vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulant therapies
• Conduct pain consults and collaborate with care teams to optimize therapy
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, including sterile IV compounding verification using Dose Edge
• Manage and check automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Document and communicate medication interventions in the Meditech EMR
• Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent)
• Active license to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) required
• Sterile compounding competency and experience supervising technicians preferred
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis/Pak Edge and Meditech EMR highly desirable
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)

• Medication management and inpatient pharmacy operations
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Sterile IV compounding verification workflows
• Automated dispensing systems (Pyxis, Pak Edge) operation and troubleshooting
• Meditech EMR documentation and medication reconciliation
• Clinical consultation for pain management and medication safety
• Leadership skills for supervising technicians and coordinating pharmacy work
