Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled hospital pharmacist coverage for the majority of shifts
- Dispense and verify medications accurately and efficiently
- Support retail pharmacy shifts as needed, maintaining continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and safety protocols
- Participate in medication reconciliation and patient counseling to improve outcomes
- Document interventions, maintain records, and contribute to quality improvement efforts
- Support inventory management and safe handling of medications
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Arizona (required)
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy (required)
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; retail experience a plus
- Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused mindset
- Ability to work Monday–Thursday day shifts and cover at least one weekend per month
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication safety
- Familiarity with retail pharmacy workflows and patient counseling
- Accuracy in dispensing, verification, and documentation
- Comfort using pharmacy management systems and electronic medical records
- Understanding of sterile and non-sterile compounding principles (if applicable)
- Ability to triage medication-related issues and provide clinical recommendations
