Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify medications accurately for acute care patients
• Prepare and oversee sterile compounding following safety and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain and manage Pyxis automated dispensing systems and inventory
• Document medication activities and communicate clinically in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to optimize medication therapy
• Ensure compliance with state pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and quality standards
• Participate in medication reconciliation and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active North Dakota pharmacist license required
• Recent travel or contract pharmacy experience required
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Sterile compounding experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Pyxis or other automated dispensing systems preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques and USP standards
• Comfort using Cerner electronic medical record systems
• Experience operating and troubleshooting Pyxis medication cabinets
• Medication safety principles, dosage calculations, and best practices
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
• Ability to manage inventory and ensure timely medication availability
