Roles & Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and direct the operations and staff of the Surgical Services Department
Evaluate and improve patient care delivery
Manage fiscal, material, and human resources
Develop and implement policies and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room and surgical services management
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Alaska
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications

Education

Completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN-approved institution
BSN, MSN, or Master's degree in a healthcare or business administration-related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Leadership and management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of AORN Guidelines and Perioperative Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
Experience with electronic health record systems
