Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to patients on a med/surg/telemetry unit with a focus on neuro conditions
Monitor cardiac rhythms and neurological status, stepping in quickly when changes arise
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust care plans
Educate patients and families on recovery, neuro precautions, and discharge planning
Document accurately and maintain a safe, healing environment
Jump into action during emergencies – you are the calm in the storm

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or equivalent
TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
At least one year of recent med/surg or telemetry experience
Neuro experience is a big plus – we love specialists!

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for fast-paced med/surg and tele settings
Comfort with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Knowledge of neuro assessment tools like NIHSS
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to handle variable patient loads and changing priorities
