Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for adult and pediatric patients using GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 and non-invasive devices
• Provide advanced respiratory care in critical care settings, including ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Perform high-flow oxygen therapies using Vapotherm and Comfort Flow devices
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Respond to rapid changes in patient status in all critical care units and perform transport ventilator support as needed
• Mentor and collaborate with bedside staff to ensure consistent, high-quality respiratory care

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP preferred (nice-to-have)
• Minimum 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience in critical care or acute care settings
• Comfortable working across all critical care units and floors; able to float as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in mechanical ventilation and critical care respiratory management
• Hands-on experience with GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 and V60 non-invasive device
• Familiarity with high-flow systems such as Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Proficient with Cerner EMR documentation and clinical communication
• Strong critical thinking, rapid assessment and patient transport skills
