Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and ventilator management for adult and pediatric critical care patients using devices like GE R860, Draeger infant/pediatric vents, Newport HT70, V60, Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Monitor, assess and adjust ventilator settings; troubleshoot alarms and deliver timely interventions
• Perform safe patient transport ventilation and airway management during intra- and inter-facility moves
• Respond to code/rapid response events and collaborate in emergency airway situations
• Document all assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary ICU and NICU teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans
• Educate patients and families about respiratory therapies and discharge instructions
• Float across critical care units and adapt to varying unit needs while maintaining high-quality care

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• RRT — Registered Respiratory Therapist (required)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required
• NRP preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience (as listed)
• Comfort with rotating night schedules and working across critical care and pediatric/NICU areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced airway skills
• Experience with GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vents and V60 non-invasive devices
• Familiarity with Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen systems
• Proficient documentation and charting in Cerner EMR
• Critical care and NICU/Pediatrics respiratory care knowledge
• Strong assessment, troubleshooting and teamwork skills
