Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 08-23-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem 12.5-hour shifts, schedule varies based on availability and facility needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate respiratory care to patients with pulmonary and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and respiratory treatments as ordered
- Assess patient respiratory status and collaborate with the care team to adjust treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas draws, spirometry, and ventilator management
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy techniques and home care strategies
- Document patient care accurately and maintain a safe, healing environment
Qualifications
- Active Oregon Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Previous acute care or pediatric respiratory experience is a plus
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible per diem schedule
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities including mechanical ventilation and airway management
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Strong patient assessment and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
