Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and assess patient responses
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for patients of all ages
• Perform diagnostic tests and evaluate lung function
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment use
• Document treatments and maintain accurate patient records

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous experience in acute care or hospital respiratory therapy
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of respiratory care protocols and equipment
• Mechanical ventilation and airway management expertise
• Oxygen therapy and aerosol medication administration
• Patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
