Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert high-acuity nursing care to trauma, spinal/neuro and surgical patients with compassion and precision
• Perform thorough assessments, implement nursing interventions, and monitor complex patients closely
• Coordinate and communicate care during nurse handoffs with ED and admitting units to ensure seamless transitions
• Document patient care and charting in EPIC accurately and timely
• Collaborate with support techs, phlebotomists and unit secretaries to optimize patient flow and safety
• Manage patient assignments effectively (unit patient ratio noted at 5:1) while prioritizing critical needs
• Respond to trauma activations and acute changes in condition with calm, decisive action

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure compliant with practice in Georgia required)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• EPIC experience required — you’ll be charting like a pro
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (trauma, spinal/neuro, surgical or high-acuity nursing)
• Comfortable working rotating shifts and adaptable to changing unit needs
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work within interdisciplinary teams

• Trauma nursing and surgical nursing expertise
• High-acuity patient management and critical thinking
• Spinal/neuro patient care knowledge
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Nurse handoff best practices and clear interdisciplinary communication
• Experience coordinating with phlebotomy and unit support staff
