Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care for med-surg telemetry patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and act quickly on telemetry changes
• Perform peripheral IV starts and dressing changes with clinical confidence
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
• Collaborate closely with physicians, unit staff, and support services to optimize patient outcomes
• Step into charge or leadership responsibilities when asked and support unit workflow
• Help maintain safe patient ratios and assist teammates proactively during busy periods

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure per state requirements
• Minimum 2+ years medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Comfortable with peripheral IV starts and common med-surg procedures
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR systems
• Charge nurse experience is a plus and will be considered favorably

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN) preferred or equivalent nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and acute response ability
• IV insertion and wound/dressing care competency
• Skilled documentation and electronic charting in Cerner PowerChart
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and a positive, helpful attitude
• Ability to float to other med-surg units and adapt to changing patient needs
