Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric ICU patients in the PICU
• Assess and monitor patient status, interpreting clinical data and communicating changes clearly
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, following established protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists and family members
• Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain competency and best practices
• Document care, observations and interventions promptly and accurately in the medical record
• Support families with education, empathy and clear communication during critical moments

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered RN license in California (or eligible to obtain one)
• Experience working in a pediatric intensive care setting preferred; PICU experience a strong plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient-centered care
• Willingness to participate in required orientation and ongoing unit education

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU workflows
• Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and pediatric medication dosing
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong situational awareness and infection control practices
