Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the neurological status of stepdown patients
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and specialists to develop personalized care plans
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact NLC state
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• ACLS certification is a plus
• Prior experience in stepdown, intermediate care, or critical care preferred
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and neurological assessments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neurological assessment skills
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in high-acuity situations
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
