Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma center
• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients with a wide range of conditions, from trauma to burns
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and RTs to deliver optimal outcomes
• Monitor telemetry and interpret strips to catch subtle changes in patient status
• Perform procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and port-a-cath insertion
• Float between multiple campuses and free-standing ERs as needed to support the team
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Emergency Room experience
• At least 6 months of Level 1 Trauma experience as core staff
• Active RN license in Arizona or compact license (willing to wait for license)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• TNCC and ATCN preferred
• Pass a DYS exam prior to accepting
• Comfortable with floating between facilities and having your own reliable vehicle
• Adherence to dress code (natural hair color, no facial piercings, clean shave for men for fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency and trauma nursing
• Proficient in Cerner EMR
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Skilled in Foley catheter insertion and sterile technique
• Confident with central line dressing changes and port-a-cath access
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
