Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure areas and patient care spaces so the team can deliver safe, efficient care
• Review patient charts and ensure all documentation, consents and labs are in order before procedures
• Perform complete systems assessments and monitor patients during pre- and post-procedural care
• Independently circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular, EP and neuro procedures
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and communicate clinical changes immediately
• Document procedures and handoffs accurately and in real time using MacLab/CardioLab and the electronic health record
• Maintain safety protocols and promote a therapeutic, respectful environment for patients and families
• Participate in preceptorship of new staff and contribute to ongoing professional development activities

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU or IMC strongly preferred (new grads and Med/Surg-only candidates are not being considered)
• Proven ability to circulate procedures and operate cardiology/EP lab equipment (MacLab/CardioLab, 3D mapping systems, intra-cardiac ultrasound)
• Comfort with procedural sedation and monitoring of cardiovascular/EP patients
• Strong documentation skills and ability to perform accurate handoffs
• Willingness to work variable shifts, respond to on-call pager, and cover weekends/holidays

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted if BSN is obtained within 36 months of hire
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring for pre-, intra- and post-procedural care
• Sterile technique and procedural preparation including room/equipment setup
• Circulating procedures and assisting physicians during complex interventions
• Familiarity with structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO) and electrophysiology procedures (ablations, device implants)
• Experience with interventional neurology procedures such as carotid stenting and stroke thrombectomy is a plus
• Accurate, real-time electronic documentation and procedure logging (MacLab/CardioLab)
• Strong communication skills for collaboration, handoffs and patient/family interactions
• Commitment to safety protocols and continuous professional development
