Shift Type: Night-focused rotating 12-hour shifts: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Schedule assignments are reviewed every 4 weeks and may include day shifts or combinations based on unit needs; weekends and variable coverage required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to adult oncology and BMT patients on a mixed acuity PCU and MS unit
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe and respond early
• Administer and manage IV therapy, infusions, and blood products following established protocols
• Care for central lines, PICCs, implanted ports and perform central line blood draws when required
• Manage feeding tubes and provide specialized nutrition support
• Participate in Rapid Response Teams and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
• Follow strict isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols for immunocompromised patients
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work, Radiology) to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice) — meet state licensure requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certified status preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year of recent oncology/MS/telemetry experience within the past 3 years
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be screened
• Proficient with charting systems — Epic required
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity BMT/Inpatient Oncology setting and caring for complex diagnoses

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing expertise
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy, infusion pump management (Alaris pumps) and blood product administration
• Central line, port care and PICC management
• Familiarity with BMT procedures including autologous, syngeneic and allogeneic transplants and CAR-T therapy
• Strong infection prevention and isolation precautions knowledge
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Experience with GE B450 telemetry systems and common unit equipment (bladder scanner, Stryker beds)
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education skills
