Location: Bad Axe, Michigan

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Weekends & Holidays: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Review and interpret electronic physician orders to confirm accurate drug choices, safe dosages, and proper administration routes
Evaluate patient profiles for allergies, drug-drug interactions, and lab results
Oversee or personally prepare specialized medications, including large-volume parenterals, intravenous (IV) piggybacks, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and chemotherapy infusions
Participate in medical rounds with physicians and nurses to recommend evidence-based therapies and assist in medical emergencies
Conduct medication reconciliation during a patient's admission and provide comprehensive drug counseling to patients upon hospital discharge
Manage, review, and delegate tasks to pharmacy technicians, interns, and students to maintain accurate inventory and cart distributions

Qualifications

2 years of inpatient pharmacist experience
Michigan state license
Ability to work in the Anticoagulation Clinic and perform Oncology compounding

Education

Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
