Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during examinations and procedures
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Take and process dental X-rays as needed
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and appliance care
• Manage patient records and appointment scheduling

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland preferred
• Orthodontic assisting experience is a huge plus
• Radiology certification (if applicable)
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Skilled in chairside assisting and instrument sterilization
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
