Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to patients in a psychiatric setting
• Monitor patient behavior, mental status, and physical well-being throughout the shift
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions
• Administer medications and document responses accurately
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and adjust treatment plans
• Advocate for patients and provide emotional support during their recovery journey
• Respond to crisis situations with calm, effective de-escalation techniques

Qualifications

• Current and active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license in California
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles and therapeutic communication
• Skill in observing, documenting, and reporting patient behavior
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
• Basic computer skills for electronic health records
• Understanding of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies
