Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift, per diem; specific days not specified)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper lifting and assistive equipment
Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and behavioral shifts
Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate handoffs to the care team
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures to keep residents safe
Support a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence for residents

Qualifications

GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by facility
Comfortable and available to work 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shifts
Strong communication, teamwork, and a compassionate approach to elder care
Ability to perform patient transfers and assist with mobility safely

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ADLs and geriatric care principles
Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
Infection control and safety practices
Proper use of patient handling/transfer techniques
Clear documentation and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care setting
