Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as-needed), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
Support safe transfers and mobility, following proper body mechanics
Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
Accurately document care and resident behavior in charts or electronic records
Work collaboratively with the care team to implement individualized care plans
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Current immunizations/TB screening and ability to pass a background check
Comfortable working with older adults and supporting mobility needs
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and person-centered approaches
Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing changes, safe transfers
Good documentation practices and attention to detail
Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
Familiarity with care team communication and follow-through
