Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
Support residents with feeding, personal hygiene, and toileting needs with dignity
Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly
Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and promote positive outcomes
Foster a warm, respectful environment that enhances resident quality of life

Qualifications

GNA certification (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred
Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem shifts

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
GNA certification or state-equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and assisted living needs
Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, reporting changes, documentation
Infection control and safe patient handling practices
Comfortable working with elderly populations and dementia care basics
Teamwork, time management, and clear communication skills
