Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as scheduled), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics
Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
Document care accurately and timely in assigned records
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care plans

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Completion of a state-approved GNA training program or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred
Comfortable working in a long-term care or geriatric setting with empathy and patience
Ability to pass required background checks and any facility screenings

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with ADLs and resident assistance
Basic vital signs and observation skills
Familiarity with infection prevention and safety procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
Team-oriented mindset and reliability
