Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough oral assessments and document patient findings
• Provide prophylaxis cleanings, scaling, and polishing for patients
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to protocol
• Collaborate with dentists and staff to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience in a dental office setting preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral anatomy and pathology
• Prophylaxis techniques and infection control standards
• Dental software documentation (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
• Patient education and motivational interviewing
• Regulatory compliance and OSHA guidelines
