Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional dental hygiene care to patients of all ages
- Perform cleanings, exams, and screenings to promote oral health
- Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a clean workspace
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Virginia Dental Hygiene License
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to infection control
Education
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and scaling
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and radiography
- Experience with electronic dental records (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Excellent interpersonal and chairside manners
- Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
