Candidate Pay Rate: $51 - $35.7 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Take vital signs for patients
Assist with medical procedures
Act as a chaperone during exams
Request medication prior authorizations
Request authorizations and send out referrals
Maintain knowledge of insurance in Kern County

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience working in a medical office setting

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Post-secondary education or training in medical assisting preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner
Medical terminology and anatomy
Insurance and authorization procedures
