Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT to help patients regain independence
• Deliver individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, adaptive techniques, and functional mobility
• Monitor patient progress, update treatment documentation, and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to create cohesive, patient-centered care plans
• Instruct patients and caregivers on safe transfer techniques, adaptive equipment, and home program exercises
• Ensure a safe therapeutic environment and adhere to facility policies and professional standards

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Valid authorization to practice in California as required
• Demonstrated experience working with adults in a rehabilitation or post-acute setting preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to work the listed schedule, including weekends as required by the assignment

Education

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current COTA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, functional mobility, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Proficient documentation and care planning aligned with clinical standards
• Ability to assess patient needs and implement evidence-based interventions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab environment and prioritizing caseloads
• Strong interpersonal skills to coach patients and collaborate with clinical teams
