Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate care to residents, including help with daily activities.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure resident safety and comfort.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in condition, notifying nursing staff promptly.
• Support residents at mealtimes with feeding assistance and hydration.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment following infection control guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living is preferred
• Must pass a background check and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents with physical tasks
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care standards and safety protocols
• Skill in monitoring vital signs and documenting accurately
• Ability to follow care plans and shift instructions with attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, respectful approach
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus
• Team player who works well under supervision and independently
