Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs, and communicate any changes in condition to the nursing team
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to maintain safety and comfort
- Document care provided accurately and promptly in accordance with facility policies
- Work as part of a collaborative team to create a welcoming and supportive environment
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start
- COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption
- A state or federally issued ID and ability to wear a photo badge at all times
- Compassionate, dependable, and able to adapt to changing assignments
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and vital sign measurement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills with residents, families, and coworkers
- Flexibility to handle unexpected changes in schedule or resident needs
