Location: Belen, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as scheduled), 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Night shift)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to residents including hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance
Monitor and document patients’ condition, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
Assist with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
Support individualized care plans and participate in daily caregiving routines
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Respect resident dignity and privacy while encouraging independence

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification required (New Mexico preferred)
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Able to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
Comfortable working night/overnight shifts and flexible per diem scheduling
Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not mandatory

Education

High school diploma or GED required
CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical skills such as bathing, feeding, toileting, and ambulation assistance
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and care staff
Attention to detail for documentation and care tasks
