Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered pediatric primary care for patients from birth through 18 years
• Perform age-appropriate screenings and monitor physical and psychosocial growth and development
• Assist with diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pediatric conditions in collaboration with providers
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in OCHIN EPIC
• Educate and guide parents and caregivers on health supervision, immunizations, and home care
• Support clinic flow by taking vitals, collecting specimens, administering immunizations per protocol, and triaging needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, compassionate care for underserved populations

Qualifications

• Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required with 2+ years current pediatric clinic experience
• NHA, AMT or AAMA certification required
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Bilingual Spanish highly preferred given the primarily Spanish-speaking patient population
• OCHIN EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
• Previous travel healthcare experience preferred
• One supervisory reference from within the past two years required (signed)
• Note: Facility will not consider travelers residing within 25 miles of the hospital

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of pediatric growth and development milestones and screening practices
• Comfortable with pediatric vitals, immunizations, and specimen collection
• Proficient charting and clinical documentation in EMR (OCHIN EPIC preferred)
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to serve diverse and underserved populations
• Clinic workflow, infection control practices, and patient education techniques
